Warning: this was not an April Fool’s joke. 

Reported on CTV News: A day after Auditor General Michael Ferguson had sent letters to 40 current and former senators about questionable expense claims, Conservative Senator Nancy Ruth responded.

“There were a couple of times that my assistant put in for a breakfast when I was on a plane and they say I shouldn’t have claimed because I should have eaten that breakfast. Well, those breakfasts are pretty awful, if you want ice-cold Camembert with broken crackers, have it.”

Now we aren’t writing this blog to start a debate on this topic. We simply hope that this gets to the next person that will have to prepare a meal, or specifically Camembert cheese for Senator Nancy Ruth!
