5 Tips to a Healthier Dinner

Pizza, fries, wings or burgers. These items have a lot in common, they are delicious and tasty, but are also full of fats and calories. Healthy meals don’t need to be a long and laborious project, so before you go and put your local pizza joint on speed dial take a look at these quick tips below to help you achieve a healthier dinner.

Make everything a salad:

It doesn’t matter what type of meal you are having, a handful of leafy greens is a terrific way to make your dish healthier and more delicious!

Good ol’ H2O:

Instead of grabbing a nice cold can of soda pop full of empty calories try hydrating with a nice big glass of water before your meal and during your meal. Water aids your body in digestion and keeps your skin looking youthful and hydrated!

Fill Up on Veggies:

Veggies are a low calorie/high volume food. What’s so great about veggies is that you can eat a ton of them without consuming unwanted calories. While eating vegetables avoid adding extra sauces or condiments as this will add to the total calories of the meal.

Simplify your meal:

Don’t be over concerned about your daily calorie intake, making subtle changes to your diet can make a world of difference. Focus on avoiding packaged and processed food and opt for for fresh fruits, veggies and ingredients

Focus on Yourself:

The last tip is pretty simple one. As the saying goes “you are what you eat” this is true in a way. No, not like like Violet Beauregarde becoming a blueberry after eating blueberry gum, but more like the healthier you eat the better you will feel and more energy you will have. The more junk food you eat the more you will feel drained with low energy levels.

Healthier meals take effort and knowledge, but are not impossible to achieve. Til next time!
